The Bush administration threatened to fire Richard Foster, the chief Medicare actuary, if he shared his cost rojections with Congress during the Medicare bill debate; in doing so, they probably violated federal law. I don’t understand how intelligent people can be more worried about what Kerry might do as President than what Bush is certainly doing now.
